Compact camera and Infinity focus

I usually set my Pentax A20 to infinity focus when doing Aerial Photography. However, I just discovered that it just isn't right:





Here is an extract from a distant scene taken with Autofocus: it is sharp.











Same scene taken with focus set to Infinity: completely blurred !




Hyperfocal mode gives bad results as well !

Aerial Photos of new road in Montbonnot

Here are some aerial photos of the industrial park of Montbonnot, that show the soon-to-be-opened new RD11M road. These pictures show both ends of the new road.

These pictures were taken with a small radio-controlled airplane.
